The Training Sessions

Love Your Training.

The Training Sessions is a sort of anthology of workouts. It’s my space for crafting interesting, creative, challenging and purposeful strength training. I define strength training as comprising:

anything that makes you move stronger.

This might include; faster, or more flexibly, with heavier weights, or further, learning new movements, or simply for longer.

This is what fitness is.

The Training Sessions are released weekly, via app, for anybody to access and follow. I also lead them in-person in my gym.

Rather than being just a list of movements and reps, I explain the purpose, flow and “story” of each workout – the areas of intensity you’ll notice in your body, where the workout might take you in your headspace, how to overcome the hard parts and how to adapt for ability/equipment.

The Training Sessions are linked together in a recognisable programme.

This means my goal for the changes that will happen with you and your body over time become clear the more sessions you complete.

However, I want each session to exist on its own terms, as a repeatable thing you might do, just for the fun of it. And with that combination of creative intentions, The Training Sessions exist in anthology format. Like albums from your favourite artist. Books from a writer you love.

You know what to expect and what you want, but you couldn’t create it yourself.

Equipment And Technique

The Training Sessions make use mainly of kettlebells, but also bodyweight strength and Breathing training using Concept2 ergs – or running, if the weather suits you. The purpose of the sessions is to cover all 5 of my training Principles across 3 days per week of training, allowing you to build a sustainable training habit and generally make yourself better at everything.

The Training Sessions is “what movements to do”, with technique and movement pointers rather than “how to do the movements”. Please see below for comprehensive “how to do the movements” options including an online DIY course (which takes as long as you take to get through it) (you get 2 months free app class with this course) and 1-1 intensives with me, via zoom optional (which will be faster to learn from).

How To Learn

Know the fundamental skills of strength, kettlebells and erg training and get 2 months free access to The Training Sessions.

Choose from online:

A) an online kettlebell course during which I teach you from scratch via a video-based, internationally certified teaching curriculum, and a live virtual personal training session at the end to check your skills.

OR
B) booking between 2-4 hours of 1-1 intensives with me (online or in-person) to cover the kettlebell lifting technique + optional erg training + whatever else you need me to teach you.
Or in-person:

C) attending an RKC Big Six kettlebell workshop and/or an Erg Army full day workshop to learn from me in-person in a group environment (workshops run a few times a year)

You can access this training with or without technique tuition, although I recommend that you have technique tuition via my options listed at the top of this webpage as soon as is practical for you so that you gain optimal benefit from this training programme.

If you’ve already done technique tuition previously with an RKC or StrongFirst instructor, or done an Erg Army course, you’ll be grand. Crack on.

You can access this training with or without technique tuition, although I recommend that you have technique tuition via my options listed at the top of this webpage as soon as is practical for you.

If you’ve already done technique tuition previously with an RKC or StrongFirst instructor, or done an Erg Army course, you won’t need to do any additional technique work. You still have the option book PT sessions with me to monitor your technique at a maximum of every 6 months.
