Reasons to talk yourself out of it (and why they’re not true) ⁣

Reason number 1:⁣

𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲.⁣

We’ve all heard the same bs “𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝟸𝟺 𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘥𝘢𝘺”, which is the equivalent of pointing out “𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘢 𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘵” – gee, thanks, that’s so helpful, now piss off.⁣

Yes 24 hours is 24 hours but the 𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴 on our time are unique and can be overwhelming.⁣

We can start to overcome this by being 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦 about our time.

So you need to plan your exercise sessions like you plan your dentist trips, dog walks, kids swimming lessons, house tidying time. ⁣

They’re not just “𝘪𝘧 𝘐 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘬” they’re “𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺’𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘬”⁣

It doesn’t have to look the same every week (but it REALLY helps when it does)⁣

And be SUPER strict on this. People love to try and belittle it even if they think they’re being kind. This might look like them saying that you don’t need to do exercise because you look good (that’s diet culture talking) or praising you as if you’re somehow virtuous for exercising.⁣

Listen – fitness is a 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, not a vanity project or aspiration.⁣

It’s the 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺, not the 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗹.⁣

Juno Fitness

I’m Shell Gilkes, a personal trainer for women who train their bodies to be strong, healthy and powerful. I empower women to help them to feel confident in their bodies through the power of movement.

Think about it; how would it feel to focus on what your body can do (cool stuff like press-ups and deadlifts) and how it feels (strong, mobile, powerful, full of energy), rather just on what it looks like?

We cannot be too strong. Join the movement. Come along. Everyone is welcome.
